All you pea pickers, I need advice

A bad lower back and a nasty infected finger (Mollydog and I played with too much enthusiasm) have kept me out of the garden for the past two weeks. As a result I have a whole bunch of Mammoth Melting Snow Peas that are way past their prime -- can't possibly eat them pods and all. On the other hand, I figure the pods that are still green, even though the peas are swollen and plump, can still be shelled and would be edible as a side dish.

The pods that have begun to fade from green to white are another story. Some of them I will let dry to the brown, rattle stage for next year's seeds. But there are way too many for that. The pods are still moist; but the peas inside I'm sure are too starchy to be good to stand alone. Do you think they would be OK as soup/stew peas where they would be more thoroughly cooked? I don't feel right throwing them away after I've gone to all that effort.
